Telepresence technologies

Anne Hardwick, the Chairperson and Treasurer of the IMCCA welcomes the
attendees, explains the day’s schedule and gives away the first prize of the
day.
Duffie White, considered by many to be the
“father of telepresence,” will explain how despite a gloomy business economy,
telepresence has emerged as the killer application of advanced technology for
saving travel costs and increasing global competitiveness. This presentation will highlight how corporate
decision makers, AV dealers and systems integrators can capitalize on this
emerging billion dollar industry.
Dr. S. Ann Earon, Chairperson Emeritus IMCCA, and David Danto, Director
Emerging Technologies IMCCA, will present a brief history of the telepresence
space with an analysis of the benefits and challenges of the technology.
Key market leaders will
make brief presentations highlighting their views of the benefits and
challenges, and will answer moderator submitted questions about the value of
telepresence and its future direction.
Discussion will center around using telepresence
for business continuity, executive work life balance, carbon reduction, and
collaborative research & development.
Current telepresence users
will present brief case studies on how and why they have adopted these systems
and the value the technology offers their organizations. Discussion will include their deployment
experience and specific applications, benefits and challenges of telepresence
technologies.

A panel of vendors,
consultants, service providers and end users will take questions from the
moderator and the audience. This is a

Director of the IMCCA, will highlight the topics covered during the day and
point out where the various technologies and services can be viewed on the
InfoComm show floor. The drawing for the
