We offer the most HD IP rooms of any provider, and can make all of the arrangements very quickly so you can still conduct business anywhere in the world. Applied Global Technologies

To complete the preparedness strategy of IT, AGT is offering a "rental" of our fully managed technology that is deployed inside the clients' data center. With minimal impact to IT, our solution enables B2B video communications with clients /partners and at-home workers. Each meeting can be recorded allowing affected employees to view them upon returning to work. Our solution connects web desktop users and room based videoconferencing users over the corporate network, VPN, and internet.

    AVI-SPL

AVI-SPL specializes in helping people communicate. This can take the form of sophisticated meeting rooms with projectors , sound systems and monitors or from a desktop in a home office using video and a web collaboration tool. Our ConferencePoint suite of video communication services will be a critical component in helping our customers continue to drive their business and stay connected should the spread of the H1N1 virus impact their business.

    Glowpoint

Glowpoint currently manages video services for medical organizations that:

    - Provide off-site, "second opinions" to patients from academic specialists (El Camino Hospital)

    - Provide surgical training - "live" - from remote locations via Glowpoint's TEN network and HD Bridging Services (Olympus Surgical)

    - Webcast medical findings to families who financially or physically cannot travel (MTM-CNM) We encourage the use of telepresence and video - during this H1N1 swine flu containment - as one of many prudent measures for customers and employees to "quarantine" their communications.

    Intercall

As part of the company's concern for the health of our staff and continued service operations, InterCall is monitoring reports on theglobal spread of flu and the possibility of a pandemic outbreak. Preparing for possible pandemic situations is a part of our disaster recovery and business continuity plans currently in place.

In the event that a production center is impacted, InterCall's production staff can access all InterCall Service platforms remotely. All of our managed bridge platforms can be accessed by authorized staff from anywhere in the world. Additionally, a condensed training program is executed quarterly, ensuring operations staff can run and manage conferences in an emergency situation.

    myVRM

With the potential outburst of H1N1 Virus, videoconferencing is the only way to contain this virus. MyVRM software is leading the fight in order to get the most productivity out of your collaborative conferences. Utilizing this patented software, scheduling a meetings is as easy as 123. And now, myVRM has integrated the software into Outlook and Lotus (coming soon), so that users may schedule directly from their native email. myVRM offers multiple entry points so that even public rooms can be scheduled through our service as well as Contact us for more information at sales@myvrm.com

    Phoenix Audio

If anyone within our company shows flu like symptoms they are sent home with one of our Duet or Quattro2 conference phones and their laptop. They will conduct business from home in as much of a full capacity as their health allows. I had a serious case of H1N1 and I was able to communicate in a manner that was fairly transparent. Since I do a significant amount of work from my home office, my company and my clients saw very little change in my availability except for about two days and even then I was able to make a couple of calls.

The ability to communicate in a quality fashion, (full duplex, high definition) removes many of the objections that are associated with home office work. Nobody is forced to be on line or available if they are not feeling well, but in cases where an employee would have normally gone to work, this program allows them to be as engaged as they choose to be. H1N1 is just one example where telecommuting helps to improve or more importantly ensures the efficiency of your company.

    Polycom

Polycom is helping customers understand how visual communication can serve as a powerful and effective tool for business continuity during H1N1 outbreaks by allowing people to work more effectively from remote and home office locations and by replacing the need to travel for meetings. Polycom experienced these issues first hand when 10 percent of its U.K. office developed H1N1 symptoms in July. Polycom video solutions like its CMA Desktop video application served as an important part of its business continuity plan and helped protect at-risk staff so they could continue working from home ('At-risk' meant those with any possible underlying medical problems, such as a heart condition, diabetes or asthma, as well as any pregnant women.)

In addition, Polycom systems are being used around the globe by medical professionals fighting the outbreak. Polycom systems like the HDX 7000 have been in use by the Mexican government since the initial outbreak to bring together health experts, facilitate discussion and disseminate critical information quickly and effectively. Experts at Mexico's Secretariat of Health used Polycom systems to communicate face-to-face with some 1,500 health officials to help determine the source of the flu, where and how it was spreading, and effective treatments. Bracing for the coming winter flu season, health officials in Mexico continue to use Polycom video systems as they prepare to battle an anticipated rise in H1N1 flu.

    Radvision

Never miss a meeting or class again. With RADVISION's SCOPIA Solution, companies and schools can continue operations with their community connected via the Internet. Meetings, classes, seminars can all carry on as scheduled with an Internet connection, webcam and headset. Don't let obstacles get in your way of giving your students, employees, and colleagues what they need. RADVISION has the solution for you.

    TANDBERG

TANDBERG encourages employees to telework and provides video conferencing tools in the office, employees' homes and on their laptops. As a result, the transition to teleworking for TANDBERG employees in Mexico was seamless when the Swine Flu outbreak occurred there in April. To help other businesses prepare and get access to video conferencing tools that can help keep employees visually connected while minimizing exposure risk from office environments and travel, TANDBERG offers expert business continuity advice and video solutions that can be easily deployed and managed at an affordable price.

    Telaid

We have been monitoring pandemic risk since late 2008 when one of our enterprise customer's risk managers asked us if we had this covered in our business continuity plan. We now have factored into our planning the CDC announcement that forecasts significant percentages of the US population at risk for H1N1 infection going into this flu season. We will have this risk scenario covered in our business continuity plan by October 1st.

    Telpresence Tech

TelePresence Tech has completed development of advanced communications systems to be used by medical facilities and patients in the event of a pandemic of swine flu. Patients can register at a clinic with a TelePresence Cart system which is connected to a physican on a TelePresence Desktop system. This solution provides face to face consultation while keeping the medical staff from becoming infected themselves. For rapid deployment the transmissions can be over wireless 3G networks.

    Teliris

The current panic over the spread of swine flu is the most recent health scare that has global businesses looking for effective alternatives for conducting business when travel is not possible. The combination of a shaky economy and a possible pandemic are leading more companies to investigate telepresence. Teliris has been helping companies for over a decade save millions in the face of airport shut- downs, travel restrictions and other realities of our world today.

    Telemanagement Resources International

It is important for organizations to have a plan in place to address continuing activities should the H1N1 flu become a pandemic in the fall.Usage of collaborative conferencing technologies (audio, web, video & telepresence) afford organizations the opportunity to work from a distance, and thus be prepared should the flu cripple their organization.

Dr. S. Ann Earon, Chairperson Emeritus of IMCCA and President of Telemanagement Resources International Inc. (TRI) has over 25 years experience working with end user organizations to help them assess needs, design, deploy and manage the usage & adoption of collaborative conferencing systems. TRI has developed a concise plan to help organizations optimize their usage of current technology. The plan includes system review, processes & procedures, ROI, promotions & training.

Ensure successful ongoing work by using collaborative conferencing technologies to communicate with others from a distance.Dr. Earon may be reached at annearon@aol.com or 609-597- 6334.

    York Telecom

York Telecom recognizes that the H1N1 influenza has serious consequences. To protect our employees and our customer service levels, we have taken steps to reduce travel and increase the internal utilization of advanced collaboration technologies such as videoconferencing and web conferencing. We have also expanded the capabilities of our redundant service centers. Further, we have launched a companywide H1N1 prevention communication campaign. As an industry leading provider of these technologies to business, government and education, York Telecom is helping our customers implement the right processes, procedures, programs and technical resilience to protect their staff and ensure continuity of operations.

    Verrex

Verrex has implemented an awareness program to educate employees on preventing spread of swine flu, based on CDC guidelines. This includes promotion of personal, workspace, vehicle and project site hygiene; on-site vaccination opportunities; and education on recognizing symptoms. Employees are also required to develop project contingency plans, ensuring progress regardless of absenteeism. Verrex, internally and to clients, promotes videoconferencing as an effective means of stemming spread of the flu, replacing in-person meetings.

    H1N1

The Wall Street Journal covers a report by a panel of scientific advisers to President Obama that presented a "plausible scenario" in which 60 million to 120 million Americans -- or 20% to 40% of the U.S. population -- contract H1N1 swine flu this fall and winter, and 30,000 to 90,000 people die of the disease. The President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology said the deaths would be mostly children and young adults.
